Madonna denuncia l’antisemitismo e l’avanzata dei partiti di estrema destra in Francia e in Europa. Intervistata da radio Europe 1, la popstar americana – nota per il suo gusto della provocazione – traccia un parallelo anche con la “Germania nazista”. “La Francia – afferma nell’intervista – fu il Paese che per primo accettò le persone di colore, accogliendo artisti come Joséphine Baker, Charlie Parker, ma anche scrittori, pittori…
In passato ho già ricordato che la Francia era terra d’asilo per tutta questa gente (…) e che purtroppo, oggi, questo spirito è completamente scomparso”, denuncia la star americana, aggiungendo: “Ho detto tutto questo già due anni fa, ma è valido anche per oggi, per questa epoca folle che attraversiamo e che mi fa pensare alla Germania nazista”. E ancora: “Questo livello di intolleranza è terrificante e non riguarda solo la Francia, è vero per l’Europa intera, ma in particolare in Francia (…) tutto ciò mi terrorizza”. La cantante aveva già affrontato questi temi nella sua controversa tournée del 2012, quando nei suoi concerti fece sfilare le immagini della leader del Front National, Marine Le Pen con una svastica sulla fronte, scatenando un mare di polemiche.
